The company ilico.net launches a new cellular phone location service
in Germany www.ootay.de for parents who wish to
locate their children or even friends who wish to locate one another. The service
known as OOTAY locates cellular phones of Vodafone, ePlus and O2 networks.
OOTAY service is accessible via internet as well as on WAP and iMode telephones.
Users can register for OOTAY services free of charge without any obligation and
they can purchase locations partially (The first plan is €5 for 5 phone locations
payable online with credit card).
OOTAY complies with the European Directive 2002/58/EC for locating people as well
as the « Codes of Practice » of German telecom operators in order to ensure full
respect of the privacy of users.
The Child Locating industry in the medium term applies to over 10 million children
in Europe. At the same time the person (or friends) location service in the medium
term applies to over 30 million people.
